Additional Information: From the style of this portrait, it was likely painted when Reynolds was based at Plymouth Dock. Many of his clients there were naval officers and Elizabeth’s father – Captain Limeburner – may have commissioned this portrait. Elizabeth married Rear Admiral Joseph Hamar in 1753 and sadly died at the young age of 29. (, )
