Description
General Description: Flora was the Roman goddess of flowers, youth, and spring, the wife of Zephyr the west wind who gave her a garden filled with flowers. A temple devoted to her was located near the Circus Maximus in Rome. (, )
Curator's Comment: Possibly made by Rysbrack as model for larger commission for Pantheon, Stourhead after ancient Roman Farnese Flora (prev. Naples). Perhaps Cottonian Flora is an additional model. More research needed. (Walkup, Terah, 2017)
