: Phyllis Massar is unable to relate this and the following drawing to any of Della Bella's engaved work since the figures in the etchings are so small; however, she suggests that tis is the type of elaborate head-dress worn by mounted participants in the carrousels and horse ballets Stefano designed for the festivities in 1652 and 1661 (text from Sotheby's 1979 catalogue) (, )
