Briganti, La Maniera Italiana, Rome 1961, fig 30). There are two other drawings for this painting, one in reverse at Windsor (see A. E. Popham, Italian Drawings of the XV and XVI Centuries. London 1949, no 521, reproduced by F. Antal in his review of the catalogue, Burlington Magazine, vol 93 (1951) pl 28); the other, a modello in the Louvre (see Catherine Monbeig-Goguel, Vasari et son Temps, Paris 1972, no. 223).
