- [nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]: Little is known of James Deacon beyond his work for Charles Rogers as an engraver employed to make woodcuts after Carlo Maratta and Luca Cambiaso. These were included in Rogers' 'A Collection of Prints in Imitation of Drawings...' 1778. Mary Peter suggests that he may have worked for Rogers in the custom office especially as Deacon refers to him as 'faithful friend and benefactor' in a letter dated 1771.
