General Description: Model for a reclining figure in classical dress. This terracotta model was purchased by Charles Rogers in 1766. For some time the figure was thought to be Sir Isaac Newton, for the scientists tomb in Westminster Abbey. The pose used for this figure was one adopted fairly frequently by Rysbrack for his designs for monuments. (, )
