General Description: Depiction of Marie de' Medici fleeing the castle of Blois in the night. The Queen, dressed in black in the centre, is apprehended by five soldiers. The female personification of France dressed in armour is behind her. To the left, one of the Queen's maids can be seen descending a ladder. Overhead, winged personifications of Night and Dawn hover.
