general description.: Postcard: ‘Ladies’ Bathing Place’, The Hoe, Plymouth’. Black and white photo of pool on Hoe foreshore, looking east, with bathing house above, to left. Taken 1913. Pool has a slide (‘water chute’) into the water. Two women sitting by poolside. Card ‘published by T. Marston & Sons, Plymouth’ – hand-written in white (very small script) on front. Used, with green George V halfpenny stamp. Postmarked Plymouth 12 September 1913. Addressed to Cullompton, Devon. Message written in pencil and at right angles: ‘I don’t know if you care for postcards, but I am not answerable for my actions just now’. (, )
